Brian Smith

Brian Smith has been with Wettermark Keith since 2011 and is senior managing attorney for the firm’s disability practice in Birmingham. He represents people claiming benefits from the Social Security Administration, the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Railroad Retirement Board, handling claims from first consultation through to final resolution. He has acted for Social Security claimants at every administrative level, from initial application through reconsideration, hearing, Appeals Council review and federal court, and has appeared at more than 2,500 administrative law judge hearings. He chairs the Social Security caucus of the Alabama Association for Justice and sat on the Alabama Veteran Advisory Board in 2022. He studied at Jacksonville State University and Troy University, and earned his law degree at Birmingham School of Law.
