Frank M. Pitre

Frank M. Pitre is a partner at Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy, LLP, where he has represented plaintiffs in personal injury, wrongful death, and complex commercial litigation throughout California since 1981.

His case history includes a wrongful death verdict for the family of a Navy officer killed in a bicycle-vehicle collision, and service as co-lead counsel in a nationwide class action that resulted in a major pharmaceutical settlement of roughly $900 million tied to a painkiller product. He has also brought class actions against automakers over safety defects and against an airline following a fatal crash.

A graduate of the University of San Francisco School of Law, Mr. Pitre is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. Supreme Court. He has written on California tort law and civil litigation practice, taught at trial advocacy programs, and belongs to the American Board of Trial Advocates and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He previously served as president of the Consumer Attorneys of California.
